 "AND I'M ONLY 94"

Over the course of 2 months, I photographed over 35 older adults added a unique flavor to each portrait.
I went to five different Seniors Centers around the city of Los Angeles collecting their stories and together took their portraits creating a fun experience for them.
The project called "And I'm Only 94" came from the idea
of photographing elderly in a fun, creative and vital way,
and show how age can be a wonderful thing when
you embrace it and feel good about yourself.

"We need to go into that phase. You get to the point of reality where you could reconize you can't really do things today that you did before as well. It's kind of keeping a conexion with reality of your abilities."

"When I turned 50, I decided that I wasn't going to care what people thought. This has been just an amazing experience, where I literally blossom, it was like water being poured on a wilting rose."

"I feel guilty about how much fun I'm having because it seems like I still should be doing something constructive and productive. But, I'm amazed that retire is been so incredible and fun""I don't have any specific goals" "When I turned 50, I decided that

"I've been told everything in life isn't comic and funny, but I don't agree with that. I mean, I don't laugh in funerals but I think there is a humorous touch to almost everything we do. That's the side I look at it."

"I've got boundless energy, I don't understand myself" I hate when my time is up." I like to explore people and discover what makes the tick" I feel like a kid, I'm a curious person. " I've been tol everything in life isn't comic and funny, but I don't ag

"So many of my family are still in Oklahoma living 5, 6 miles from where we grew up. And they say: 'I don't really care if I don't see the rest of the world. It's not a big deal. And I just want to go like: NO, you're dying. That's slow suicide. There is so much more to the world, and more you want to admit."

"I wanted to be a married woman, and I was; checked. I wanted to be a teacher, became a teacher; so checked. I want to become a writer, checked as well. And finally, what I really wanted to be was a Cabaret Artist and I did that. Checked. But now, the question is checked, checked, checked, what's the next goal and I will have time to check?"
